Introduction & Instructions

This microsite is for you and your parents. It is designed to help you think about your future, not only in the next three years when you will be studying your level 2 courses, but also in later life. So please take the time to read it carefully. So far you may not have given much thought to the timetable that you have followed day to day in school but in Years 9, 10 and 11 you will be able to choose some of the subjects that you will take. The subjects that you take in Key Stage 4 will lead to a range of qualifications.

Key Stage 4
The end of Year 8 marks an important stage in your education in that you will have studied all the subjects that the Government say that you must have an understanding of. From Year 9 onwards your studies will lead to GCSE and vocational qualifications. You can then build on this by continuing to study some of the subjects in the Sixth Form.

The main factors to consider when making your decisions are your general interests, career prospects and ability in each subject area but please don’t think that you need to make these decisions alone. Staff will be available to help you and discuss any concerns that you have.

Please note that we may not be able to offer all subjects contained on this website if there is insufficient demand by students.
