How long is the course?

Two years, full-time.

Who is the course for?

This qualification is designed for students who are interested in an introduction into the study of creating IT systems to manage and share information alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in IT.

What entry qualifications do I need?

5 GCSE's at Grade C or above including your ICT/Computer Science qualification at Grade B.

How will I be assessed?

There are 3 mandatory units: 1: Information Technology Systems 2: Creating Systems to Manage Information 3: Using Social Media in Business 4: Optional unit - assignment internally set and marked

What could I do after the course?

If all 4 units are achieved over the two years you will gain a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Information Technology (equivalent to 1 A Level). You could progress to employment with training, or into Higher Education (University). As the course covers broad areas within Information Technology, your choices are not limited.
