Netball Success

Two year 7 netball teams were able to play fixtures against Robert Napier on Tuesday 28th March. The year 7 students were mixed amongst two teams and played against the Robert Napier 'A' and 'B' teams.

The team facing the 'A' team were supported with some year 8 students due to late cancellations from some players and the line up was - Drewe, Abigail, Aine, Jaiya, Kaitland, Willow, Elizabeth and Chance. This team faced a tough opposition, playing Robert Napier's strongest team, with moments of excellence and being able to hold their own this team managed to battle out a 3-3 draw.

The second team facing the Robert Napier 'B' team consisted of - Emily, Keira, Megan, Holly, Chardonnay, Katie and Molly. This team also showed moments of greatness, winning the match 4-3.

The year 10 students were very supportive of the year 7's at the match and offered support in their warm ups and even gave them some helpful coaching tips.

I am so proud of all of the students that played in the matches yesterday, they were a credit to Strood Academy and have shown how far they have come in the development of their skills. Moving into next term, there are still more netball fixtures to come and a tournament for the teams to work towards.

There is also a netball trip that will be running on Saturday 29th April, to watch a Superleague Netball match at the Copper Box Arena - for more information or a letter please see Miss McAvoy.
