MFL Carol Celebration

On Tuesday 20th December the MFL and Music department came together to present a Year 7 Christmas Carol Celebration. The celebration included a combination of singing, readings and a question game.

Each college sang 1 song in Spanish, some included actions and most students were very well prepared in knowing the words without needing a lyric sheet. Trafalgar students sung ‘Feliz Navidad’, Victory students sung Casçabel and Hercules students sung Mi Burrito Sabanero.

The start of the carol celebration involved a vocal group warm up with everyone singing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. After this an introduction to the carol service and colleges began singing the songs they had been learning in their MFL lessons with the assistance of Mr Gannon. Throughout the carol celebration there were some readings about Christmas in other countries and their traditions. Some of the featured countries included Switzerland, Germany, France, El Salvador and Italy. The readings about Christmas traditions in other countries were placed periodically throughout the celebration providing some interesting information to all students and staff.

All of the students worked really hard in their MFL lessons in preparation for the event and showed exceptional behaviour and hard work in the carol celebration and the performance. Well done to all of the year 7 students that took part and worked really well throughout the event. Also, a big thank you to Mr Gannon, Mrs Moore and all of the MFL staff for their hard work in making the carol celebration event happen.
