We are pleased to support the research of Jemeela Savage, a 3rd year Psychology Student at the University of Surrey, who is coming to speak the 6th form on Wednesday 25 April.
Her research "A study of common experiences during adolescence" is optional so students do not need to take part if they do not wish to, during the assembly we will also distribute a revision guide so that students have a choice of something else to do if they feel uncomfortable with the questionnaire.

The P.E. Department have a host of activities planned this year which aim to meet the needs of all students in the Academy. Below, you will find the activities that each class is doing for terms 1 and 2, for each of their P.E. lessons. It is essential that students come fully prepared for lessons, with full P.E. kit and extra clothing for outdoor lessons.
You will also find a timetable for the extra-curricular activities in term 1. We would like to see every child try at least one activity – extra-curricular clubs are fantastic for students to be active as part of their healthy lifestyle, as well as being an opportunity to meet new friends and try new things. Mr Vass has set up a Sports Council designed for students to inform us what they would like to see in P.E. and extra-curricular activities. So if there are any activities that students that would like to try that are not on the schedule, they should see their Sports Council representative for their Year group and we will see what we can arrange!
We will be entering Academy teams into all the Medway competitions, of which there is a wide range – from football and netball to biathlon and rowing. In addition to clubs, there are also intra-form competitions that give lots of students a chance to represent their form in many sports, and makes these sports more accessible in a competitive setting beyond the standard Academy teams. The P.E. Department will also be running a series of trips for students to go on, including international matches in a variety of sports.
With the mix of clubs, competitions, Academy teams, trips and visits, there is something for everyone in P.E. in 2011!
