Governors

The Board of Governors is collectively responsible for determining the educational character and mission of the Academy, overseeing its activities and fostering an environment which supports the achievement of the vision and enhances the student learning experience. The Strood Academy Trustees looks for individuals who have strong managerial skills and who can offer something unique to the Academy.

Major changes such as forming and launching the new Academy do need careful planning and must be sustainable. I believe that the important work we will undertake over the next few years will be vital to the Academy’s success. Some of the decisions and choices we have made and will make in the future will be tough ones, but if we are to compete with other schools and academies, we must play our part in making the Strood Academy one of the region’s best schools.

The role of the new Board is to shape the new Academy in order that it can play an increasingly important role in Medway. Nurturing students brings huge benefits to every part of our society and I believe that Strood Academy has a great deal to contribute to the future success of the locality.
