Project Based Learning Day: 20 January

Eco Day

Students at Strood Academy participated in a themed ECO day on Wednesday 20 January 2010. Year groups are taking part in projects that look at healthy eating, recycling, rainforests and the construction of a sensory garden. Year 11 students were working with undergraduates from the University for the Creative Arts on an architectural project. A number of external visits took place e.g. ZSL London Zoo and the 2012 Olympic site and visiting speakers included Greenpeace.

The aim of the day was to provide students with a deeper understanding of the ecological issues that we face and some positive solutions. They will be working throughout the school day on their various projects.

The day was an enormous success and we are all looking forward to the next one.
