Project Based Learning Day

On Tuesday 17 November 2009 Strood Academy launched their Project Based Learning (PBL) Day. The first of the PBL Days was based around the Academy’s specialism subjects: Mathematics and Business & Enterprise. This day was an opportunity for students to learn to develop ideas and manage study projects both individually and in groups.
Enquiry based project work is a major way of delivering the Mathematics and the Business and Enterprise specialisms and preparing students for the world beyond school. Students apply their knowledge and understanding to real, everyday life contexts, and have opportunities to communicate their learning and achievements to others
This innovative curriculum approach develops students as creative thinkers and problem solvers. This type of approach to teaching and learning takes account of students’ aptitudes and aspirations, promoting both individual and collaborative achievement.
