Children in Need Charity Match

This year our annual yr12 vs yr13 charity football match raised funds for children in need.
November 20 this year was an overcast day, with the threat of rain looming, however this did not deter the 6th form boys from their game to raise funds for children in need. The first half was played in first lunch, with year 7 providing a lot of vocal support for the players! This half the two teams were very closely matched, and ended 0-0.
The second half was also very evenly matched, with year 12 scoring the first goal and year 13 equalising shortly afterwards. For the first time ever, the match was decided by a penalty shootout, with the year 12 team winning: the overall score being 3-1. The sportsmanship of both teams was admirable, and the spectators wonderfully supportive.
The 6th form raised money from the spectators, had their own tag day to raise funds, and some were sponsored to wear fancy dress (a certain year 12 boy made a lovely fairy, complete with pink wings!). The total amount raised looks to be a figure they can be proud of.

Our year 13 team, who won last year, and only lost at the penalty shootout.

Our year 12 team, who held even with the year 13 team through both halves and went on to win in the penalty shootout.
