The Strood Academy Trust seeks to appoint an experienced, creative and innovative teacher as Assistant Principal for Mathematics as a result of the promotion of the existing post holder. The successful applicant will already have a successful track-record in middle leadership and will relish the opportunities and challenges of this post.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join Medway’s first academy. We have rapidly rising standards with a growing roll of 1370 children including 230 in the sixth form. We have recently moved into superb, award winning new buildings, designed by Nicholas Hare. The academy is sponsored by the University for the Creative Arts and specialises in Business and Enterprise and Mathematics.

The post holder will be responsible for Mathematics at the academy. You will also subsume the role of Faculty Leader for Mathematics. The Mathematics faculty is supported by a full time non teaching assistant.

The post also requires other SLT responsibilities and line management duties commensurate with the post of Assistant Principal. You will be joining a well-established and successful senior leadership team. The academy has IiP (Silver) accreditation and offers excellent induction and training opportunities.

Candidates should have a proven track record of success in raising standards and inspiring learning. The role will include coaching for planning and delivery of lessons, quality assurance, induction of new staff and NQTs and the development of high quality teaching and learning resources for the classroom and the VLE. The post requires candidates to maximise every opportunity for all students to achieve excellent outcomes.

Casual Minibus Drivers

REMUNERATION: £6.19 PER HOUR

We are looking to appoint a bank of drivers who we can call upon on a casual basis to drive our students to various venues. Times and days will vary according to the requirements of the students.

A full clean driving licence with a category D1/D1E is essential and a relevant minibus training course would be desirable.

Applicants should be available work at short notice, providing cover Monday to Sunday (including Bank Holidays). Other requirements of the post include:
• Punctual, flexible and reliable
• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to health and safety
• Safeguarding knowledge and awareness of security issues
• Geographical knowledge preferred
