Working at Strood Academy

Teacher of English

Required for Easter or September

Strood Academy has already doubled the number of children gaining 5 or more GCSEs with English and Mathematics since opening in 2009. We are now seeking a talented and ambitious English teacher (with QTS) to join us at Easter or in September when we move to our £30m new building.

Cover Teacher

Required from Easter 2012 or sooner if available. A teacher with QTS to work as a Cover Teacher.
The post carries a fixed salary at M2 on the pay scale.

We are looking for a good classroom teacher to provide cover for absent colleagues. A full induction programme is provided within a well organised and structured environment. Your own subject specialism is less important than your willingness to be flexible and to work with a wide range of young people.

Strood Academy was opened in 2009 and has improved rapidly, doubling the number of children achieving 5 ‘good’ GCSE passes with English and Mathematics. We move into a new £30m building in September 2012.

Director Of Studies

Required from September 2012

Strood Academy has already doubled the number of children gaining 5 or more GCSEs with English and Mathematics since opening in 2009. We are now seeking a talented and ambitious teacher (with QTS) to join us in September as we move to our £30m new building.

You will take responsibility for the academic progress and pastoral care of 400 children in one of three Colleges, working closely with the Vice Principal. This is a high profile role and will prepare you for further promotion in due course.
