Year 8 Happy Puzzles
Team work was the order of the day on Wednesday 3rd November when the Happy Puzzle Company came to the Academy to spend the day working with the year 8 students.
Everyone worked hard solving puzzles such as placing 24 penguins on a very unstable iceberg, planning a road that never ended and pipe work that would have baffled the best of plumbers. One of the puzzles had 700,000 different solutions; luckily they only had to find 1 of them.
Everyone involved had a great time and really didn’t realise that in fact they had been doing 80 minutes of Maths. Year 8 now know that Maths can be fun.
