Volunteering at Capstone Country Park

On Thursday 14th July, some of the Year 9 WorkSkills group returned to Capstone Country Park to continue with their volunteering work.
For some of the group, it was their first opportunity to volunteer.
On arrival the students met with Dave and Andy, two park rangers. Dave introduced the days task to the students using a map and compass to complete the parks orienteering course. At the different orienteering stations, students had to help maintain the area and pick up any litter.
Students had the opportunity to use a variety of tools including; bow saws, shears and litter pickers. The majority of the group completed the entire orienteering course, with everyone helping to maintain the area surrounding the stations.
We would all like to thank the rangers at Capstone Country Park for the volunteering opportunities they arranged for us.
