Teaching French to Year 6
On Tuesday, 23rd November, Mrs Gannon accompanied by four year 11 Enterprise Ambassadors, Elizabeth, Sarah, Lauren and Leonie, went to Elaine Primary School for the afternoon and delivered a very fun, and active French lesson to a year 6 class.
The topic of the lesson was the numbers to twenty and the names of animals. These were new topics to the students and all of them learnt fun ways of remembering the vocabulary and played lots of games and sang songs.
The Strood Academy Enterprise Ambassadors helped the younger students to do the work, encouraged them to join in with the games and led some of the activities with small groups, thus demonstrating their own leadership, teamwork, communication and presentation skills. At the end of the afternoon, the year 6 class went off to assembly singing the song they had learnt with us and, when we asked if they had enjoyed their French lesson, cheered and shouted a resounding YES! They said they hoped our Enterprise Ambassadors would come back soon and teach them again!
Our year 11 students were a credit to the academy and have a bright future ahead of them as French teachers if they chose!
Well done ladies You made us proud!
