Talent Show Raises £230

Two of our 6th form ambassadors, Rob and Sam, organised a whole school talent show in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support called Strood Academys Got Talent which took place on Monday 29th November from 5:30pm 7:00pm.
The acts included singers Rachel, Katy, Hannah, Megan, Daniel, Connie and Leah. We had Chloe and Billie our only group act and our only dance act which was highly entertaining and fun. Then we had a pianist Courtney, and a majorette Tanya. All acts were superb so a big thanks and a well done to all of them. All acts including the organisers joined forces in a fantastic group song Just Stand Up, a charity song for this great cause.
We should also mention our judges Mr Gannon, Mr Hancock, and Miss Hollinshead giving fabulous feedback to all contestants all through the event, whilst wearing their funky green Macmillan wigs. Well all except Mr Hancock, but not to worry as we got our own back. It just happened to be his birthday so after an embarrassing happy birthday presentation I bet he will wear his wig next time.
After the audience's votes had been counted we congratulated Leah for winning Strood Academys Got Talent. Last but not least the night ended with a bang with a heart warming video made by Stacie and Sam to show what Macmillan Cancer Support does, and who it helps.

Then we finally got Mr Hancock to wear the wig thanks to Miss Hollinshead sponsoring Mr Hancock £5 to do so. There were refreshments available which helped contribute to us making so far a whopping £230.01.
Thanks to everyone who helped us achieve that, to our 6th form helpers on the night: Stacie, Kay, Lizzie, and Laura, and to Mr Parnell for helping with sound, lighting and running the rehearsals.
