Summer School July 2011

28 of our incoming year 7 students have spend a week at our summer school, taking part in a range of activities.
Each day the students have formed the "summer school choir", practising hard for their performance at the staff training day in September. Through the other days students have got to know each other, staff and the layout of the school. The aim of the week is to develop students' work and social skills in preparation for a successful start to year 7.
Activities hace included making and testing rockets, puppet parachutes, a visit to Shorne Country Park and a visit to the cinema. The week also includes pizza making and an athletics competition.
Here's what the children had to say:
"Is this summer school, or super fun school!?"
"I have made a new friend."
"I have learnt today to walk away from trouble."
