STEM Water Tower Challenge
Our year 7+8 STEM students were set the challenge of building a tower that would hold 3 cups, 30cm apart, 1.2m off of the ground!
They have to use all of the following skills to complete the task: team building, communication, problem solving, listening and project management.
Elena Goodspeed from BAM said one of the most common criticisms of employers is that candidates coming into jobs rarely possess the skills needed to apply their specialist knowledge to real life problems and challenges as part of a team. Applicants need to demostrate evidence of all of the skills developed for this task.
I was impressed by how the students worked together and their level of respect for each other. Becuase of this they managed to complete excellent work and complete the brief!"
