STEM project launch
On Tuesday 24 May, our STEM project was launched. Year 10 students thoroughly enjoyed an excellent presentation during the school day, and in the evening some of our Year 7 and 8 students and their families attended the launch event.
The students had been selected from over 100 applicants to be involved in the STEM project, and some even took part in the evening: giving speeches and joining in the demonstrations.
STEM stands for "Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics". Representatives from BAM, who are building our new facilities, explained how the job market in this area is expanding and how important that young people are equipped in these areas to pursue successful careers.
Over the next term, the students involved in the project will be completing a range of activities: we'll keep this website updated with photos and information!
Thank you to everyone involved in running this very enjoyable event.
