Sir John Moore Barracks trip
Some of the BTEC Public Services groups went on a visit to Sir John Moore Barracks to take part in a personal development day. The year 12 and 13 groups went on Tuesday 27th September and the year 10 groups on Monday 10th October.
In the morning the students took part in a number of teambuilding command tasks led by members of the Army Recruiting Team, which is made up of soldiers from a number of different regiments. Then in the afternoon they took part in two different sessions, one where they learnt about life in the parachute regiment, having an opportunity to see the equipment used by a Para.
The second session gave them the opportunity to see and taste a ration pack used by the army when they are out in combat.
All of the students were fully engaged in all the tasks and a great day was had by all.
