Off to university!

We are delighted that this year's excellent results mean that so many students are going to university.

Thursday 19 August was a great day for Academy students and staff as results were released and places at university this year confirmed. Well done to all our students for their hard work, we are very proud of you! Here are a few of the destinations:

Charlotte Beaumont McAllen achieved a Distinction Distinction Merit in Business Studies, and is going to study Midwifery at Canterbury Christ Church, she said "I'm really excited about university; I'm nervous about it but can't wait for the next part of my future to unfold".

Ellis Bowden achieved a Triple Distinction in Health and Social Care, as well as passing the Medical Science National Award, and is going to study Occupational Therapy at Canterbury Christ Church. Ellis said "The school has helped me a lot and I'm looking forward to going to university".

Stevie Davies is going to the University of Kent to study Sport and Exercise Management following achieving a Triple Distinction in Sports Science at the Academy. All she could think to say was "I'm really excited about university!!!".

Sarah Spicer, one of the first cohort of students to achieve an A* in Law also achieved B at History A Level and a Double Merit in BTEC Business Studies. Sarah has secured a place to study Law at the University of Kent, and said "I’m really pleased with my results and would like to thank my teachers for helping me achieve them".

Alice Wells obtained a Double Distinction in Art and Design as well as a D in Music, and is following her dreams by studying Silversmithing, Goldsmithing and Jewellery at UCA.

We also have students who have successfully competed their courses going directly into employment. Stephanie Fenton has already started her career as a home carer, and some students are taking apprenticeships including in childcare, as an electrician and in administration.
