KS4 Visit to the Imperial War Museum

image

On Wednesday 21st April, History GCSE students from years 9, 10 and 11 had the opportunity to visit The Imperial War Museum in London.

Amongst some of the exhibitions we visited were a World War 1 trench experience and a section about the involvement of The Ministry of Food in war time Britain. The museum gave a real insight into the hardships faced by civilians on the Home Front and brought to life the terror of war. On behalf of everyone who attended I would like to thank Mr Logan, Mr Knight and Mrs Fenton for accompanying us, the experience will greatly aid our studies.

‘The best bit of the history trip for me, was going through the trench experience. It was really funny as here was dressing up costumes and activities’ – Katie A

‘I really enjoyed the trench experience as it was really fun. There were a lot of things to look at in there’ – Lilly S
