FilmClub has started!
The first FilmClub show was held Wednesday 7th July and Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland was a resounding success.
The film was chosen by the team of students who help us run the club, and over 90 of our members came along to watch the film after an exciting Sports Day.
Before the film started, they were asked to consider how suitable the film was for younger audiences and which were their favourite characters, which lead to a lively debate after the film finished. Students have since logged on to www.filmclub.org and reviewed the film for people around the country to see.
“My favourite characters were Alice and the Mad Hatter, because they had a relationship like a brother and sister, they portrayed this realistically!” (Chloe, yr 7)
“I thought the effects were brilliant. I wish I could watch this film again.” (Emily, yr 8)
“After viewing Alice in Wonderland I decided to read the credits and I could not believe that I knew so many actors in the film.” (Jamie, yr 7)
“I hope this film encourages children and even adults to allow their mind to wonder more and allow your imagination to take you to different places.” (Saffron, yr 10)
The club will resume again in September. We’ll let you know what day of the week it will run, and it will be a fortnightly club. See you there!
