Excellent Mid Year Results

Our Year 11 students are celebrating after receiving GCSE certificates in English and Mathematics on Thursday 13 January. Below is our press release:
Of the 77 pupils who took the English exam in November 91% achieved A*-C grades. In Mathematics 44% of the whole year group have already achieved grades A-C.
The Academy is on course to achieve its target of 40% of students achieving 5 GCSE grades at A*-C including English and Mathematics in 2011. This would represent a 19% improvement in student achievement within the first two years since the formation of the Academy.
The curriculum at the Academy is personalized to the needs of each individual pupil which enables them to sit exams when they ready to do so, rather than have the whole year group sit the exam at the same time. Many children already have GCSE passes in subjects such as, Science and English Literature as well as Maths and English, which is providing a real boost to their confidence.
Mr Hart, Principal said The Academy is extremely proud of these results which validates our belief that the children in Strood are the equal of any, when they have access to engaging learning experiences. They can be justly proud of these stunning results and we will continue to work very hard as a staff to ensure that we are celebrating even better results in the Summer.
Pupil Mandip Virdi said: I am really proud to have achieved an A in Maths 6 months early. I can now concentrate on getting good results in my other subjects as well.
Pupil Danielle Lake said: I couldnt stop shaking when I read that I had gained an A* for English.
