District Athletics
On Thursday 24th June we took our student Athletics Team to the new Medway Park to take part in the District Athletics Championship.
We are delighted to announce that the School athletics team performed very well. For many it was their first experience of competing at the Medway Park Athletics Track.
There was an excellent team spirit with plenty of cheering and encouragement. Many athletes achieved good results including personal performances. Strood Academy team were very successful and had a represented in nearly all the sprint final races on the day.
We are proud that three School Records were broken:
Tia Murray in year 7 won and broke both the district and school Long Jump record with a jump of 4.20m She also won and broke the school record in 150m with a time of 19.9 sec.
Brannon Davies in year 7 won and broke both the district and school record in discus with a throw of 20.59m
The following students were awarded Bronze medals for coming in the top 3 positions:
Harry O’Keeffe in year 8 for the Javelin
Bobbie Harrington year 11 for the Long Jump
An excellent day was had by all the Strood Academy team. A fantastic result, well done to all involved on the day.
