Dance Workshop: G&T Students

A group of 16 gifted and talented dance students took part in a workshop with Loop Dance Company.

Loop are currently working on a site specific dance project which is going to be performed in an old manor house in Strood at the end of October. Our students were creating movement that was then filmed to be put into the final performance.

The students took part in a contemporary dance technique workshop where they learnt new skills and techniques. It was different from what they were used to, so it was challenging and interesting. They then had to create their own movement based on the textures and architectures of the building.

Once they had created movement, images of different textures were then projected onto their t-shirts as they moved, giving an illusion that the building was moving They also used the shadows on the wall to give it a spooky edge.
