Circle Theorems

Year 11s at the Strood Academy have been working incredibly hard since receiving their GCSE results to make the most out of the time remaining before their summer exams.

GCSE students have been hitting topics from across the syllabus to build on existing strengths and to address any outstanding issues.

Between now and their exams, students and teachers have highlighted key areas that are found challenging to tackle in intense lessons, focussing on exam technique as well as the key knowledge that is required for the C grade in GCSE and above.

During a recent lesson on Circle Theorems, traditionally one of the more challenging subjects, students who took part in these focussed sessions on specific areas of mathematics found that the lessons really improved their understanding where their knowledge had previously been weaker.

“I found circle theorem very challenging at the start, but once I got the hang of it I did well” – George P

“It looks hard but once you learn it, it's easy” – Dan W

“If I saw this in the Maths exam paper, I used to think, ‘oh no’, now I say, ‘yes’, because I can do it” – Joshua J
