Charlton Athletic Sports Visit
Our Year 13 BTEC sports group paid a visit to Charlton Athletic Football Club to research sports development and community schemes for their coursework.
On the way, we stopped at Danson Park for lunch and to finilise our questions.
At the club, we were welcomed by Stacey who gave us a welcome talk about the club and an outline of the schemes that the club ran. This gave us an insight into what Charlton do as a club to develop sport within the community, including people are disadvantaged due health problems, children, and the elderly. They also provide sports courses for all ages and abilities.
We had a tour of the stadium, including the offices, boardroom, hospitality suite. pitch side and changing rooms!
Charlton Athletic Football Club has the biggest and most successful community scheme running in the South East and we were very grateful for the opportunity to visit them.
