Building Computers!
On Wednesday 14th December the Computer Building Club reached their ultimate goal of building 2 computers from scratch.
The whole club participated and helped to build the computers, making sure they knew what each component was, how it worked and where it went. The computers where funded by the parents of some of the children of the club and the school. This meant the students who paid got to take the computers home with them to keep!
The computers were built under the watchful eye of Miss Roots who runs the club each Wednesday 3:05pm – 4:05pm in room 207. The lucky students who took the computers home were, Jean-Luc, Jean-Pascal and Mattias (Yr 7) who built one computer and Nathan (Yr 9) who built the other. All the boys were very happy as they got to take them home in time for Christmas!
The other boys in the club who helped with some of the building were Michael (Yr 12), Neil (Yr 7), Kain (Yr 7) and Lewis (Yr 7). A great time was had by all and all the boys worked really hard. Now the Computer Building Club look forward to their next project – Robotics!!!
Here are some quotes from the boys:
"I helped build a computer, it was really hard but it was worth while because we saw the end product". - Neil
"When we were building the computer we had lots of fun and we had to run around a lot to get the equipment we needed to build the computers, like screwdrivers! We had to buy all the stuff first then we had to wait for it to come, then we unpacked it all and then we finally got to build our computer." - Jean-Luc
