Bug Man Experience

image

Tropical inc. visited Strood Academy today and encouraged the natural curiosity of our year 8 students and year 5 Students from Gordon Junior School. They revealed the secrets of environments such as the Amazon Rainforest and the Desert showing animals from each of these habitats.

Students enjoyed the magical journey and were given the chance to meet animals up close and personal ranging from meerkats to pythons and learned about their habitats and eating habits.

Students and staff alike enjoyed the experience and were educated by the fantastic show that tropical inc. presented today as can be seen by the pictures of the day and the quotes below:

"When I went to the Bug Man I got to hold a baby Meerkat. He was soft and fluffy, his nose was very flexible so he can look for bugs and scorpions. He had sharp claws to dig up the bugs. His fur was there to keep him cool during the day and warm during the night. He was really cute except for the fact that it smelt like a wet dog."

"On Wednesday 16th February we went to see a Bug Man. It was scary and sweet. I held a hedgehog and I could feel my hand going up and down because of its heartbeat."

"Our Bug Man visit! Well he wasn’t really a bug man, more like an animal man. It was so much fun, but at the same time really scary. He showed us Meerkats, a Genit (the cousin of a Meerkat), a spider, a love bird, a skunk, a hedgehog and a boa-constricter. Thank you Bug Man!"

"I really enjoyed the Bug visit that we had today. It was very interesting and he showed us a variety of animals. We saw things like a skunk, meerkat, love bird, snakes, spiders, hedgehog and even a Genit (cousin of the Meerkat). The best animal I like is the Genit although the Meerkat and hedgehog were cute. I think the school should provide more activities like these!!"
