Activities Week: PGL
We took 39 students ranging from yr7 to yr9 to a PGL Activity Centre in Surrey. We arrived on Monday morning and were greeted by our Group Leader who took us through the structure of our trip.
The students had a bit of time in their rooms to fight over which bunk bed they got and to unpack a few clothes before heading out on their first 2 activities. Over the course of the 3 days each group of students took part in 8 activities. These were:
• Orienteering
• Jacobs Ladder
• Sensory Trail and Team Building
• Power Fan
• Abseiling
• Archery
• Zip Wire
• Quad Biking
Although the weather was not at its best the students remained positive and all took part in the activities. On the first evening a few of the students braved the torrential rain to take part in a mass game of Ambush, they got fully camouflaged and played a giant game of hide and seek in the woods. On their return they were wet through and covered in mud but they still had an amazing time.
The Students were a credit to themselves and the academy, the success of the trip will hopefully lead to a return visit in 2012. Well done to all of those involved.
