A Very French Delivery
This week Mrs Ahern's French class had some French food delivered. They had exchanged parcels of food with a French school.
In our parcel to French Students we sent some Marmite, pork scratching, jelly babies and Christmas pudding ( and much more). Pupils reportedly hated the Marmite!!
Here's what our students thought of the French food:
"Today we have tasted a load of different French Food, including cats’ tongues and snails. We also tasted “bonbons” which are French sweets, some “pains d’épices” which was like a biscuit but with a different texture, a galette des rois which was like apple pie, and Chipsters which were really nice. The Chipsters were crisps and they were my favourite. Overall it was a fun lesson. There was also a gift which was a metal box and you had to try to open it to get something inside. I found this very fun and interesting. We did try to open it but it was very difficult." - Roschelle T
"Today we ate some French food. I liked most of them and would like to eat them again. The “ langues de chat” ( cats’ tongues)and les escargots (snails) were the best. I liked today’s lesson because it was fun!" - Robert P
"Our class took part in a French Food Tasting Event. We had savoury and sweet, from Chipsters to Langues de Chats (cats’tongues) It was an enjoyable lesson, learning and tasting traditional French cuisine. Some of us were relieved to know that “langues de chats” weren’t really a cat’s tongue! The chocolate was rich and the sweets were sour. I really enjoyed this lesson and hope to do something similar again during this year." - Nadya S
