A2 Dance Trip

On Thursday 16th September, the A2 group went to Sadlers Wells to see the Alvin Ailey Dance Company.
The company performed 5 pieces throughout the evening, and all were different to one another. The first was to music by Otis Curtis and fused jazz dance with contemporary and African movement. The second was a piece called The Hunt which was very dark and dramatic. The third was a traditional African American piece with interesting blue and white costumes and lighting affects. The next piece was a solo which amazed the audience with tremendous speed and agility. The last piece was Aileys famous Revelations which the students have been studying as part of their course. It was amazing to see it live and really helped the students to develop their understanding. Below are a couple of photos from the evening.
