6th Form Raise Over £300 for HOPEHIV
As part of the HOPEHIV Social Entrepreneurs Project, 6th form students have raised over £300 from a combination of a sponsored "leg waxing" by a very brave student and a concert called "Musical Hope".
Both events were organised entirely by students, and both were thoroughly enjoyed (well, maybe one person did not enjoy having most of the hair removed from his legs!).The concert was a huge success with a great atmosphere: with performers from Strood Academy joined by Ascend to Glory, a great local rock band who treated us to a few acoustic songs as well as their normal, much heavier, material at the end of the evening!
Thank you to all of the staff who helped support the event, to the students who performed, and not least of all to a wonderfully supportive audience for both events.
