6th Form Laser Cutting

On Friday 19 November, some of our 6th form visited UCA to create plastic versions of their designs using the laser cutter.
On Friday 19th of November our jewellery community group had a trip to UCA so that we could create acrylic jewellery out of our designs which we can then sell in school to raise money for Macmillan cancer research. We arrived at UCA at 12:30 and went straight to their canteen to have our lunch, we then had a tour around the UCA campus looking at their facilities and able to view their students' work environment, this was beneficial to us as we got to experience what it would be like to go to university and as many of us were interested in the courses which UCA offer we were given an insight into these courses.
To finish off the day we went downstairs to the design department and were able to watch our designs come to life by being cut out by a laser cutter. We all felt that our experience at UCA was rewarding, some of us now have a clearer idea of what we now want to do after sixth form and we are all proud to see the finished products our designs. We would like to thank Miss Grech and Miss Bunch for taking us, and the staff at UCA for giving their time and allowing us to use their facilities.
