Gifted and Talented


Intelligence is:
Diverse, Distinct and Dynamic

Definition
‘Gifted’ describes students who have the ability to excel academically in one or more subjects such as English, Drama and Technology.

‘Talented’ describes students who have the ability to excel in practical skills such as sport, leadership, art and design, music, PE and performing arts. These students may well follow a vocational training pathway to accreditation and employment.

Identification
Gifted and Talented learners work at the top 5-10% of pupils in school as measured by actual or potential achievement. Teacher, students and parents can all contribute to identifying Gifted and Talented learners. Please follow the link below for a general identification checklist:
