Loop Ed Youth Dance Company
Strood Academy visited by Loop Ed Youth Dance Company on Monday 30th January 2012

Within this faculty students can study and participate in a wide range of practical and theory based subjects. The faculty consists of the following departments: PE, Sport, Music, Drama and Performing Arts.
Each department offers the students a wide range of activities both within the curriculum and as part of the extra curricular programme. All students will study music, drama, dance and physical education as part of their key stage three programme. As they move into key stage four they will continue to participate in physical education as part of their timetable and will also have the opportunity to choose to study a range of G.C.S.E's and BTEC courses which the faculty offer. These include G.C.S.E. Dance, Drama, Music and Physical Education, as well as BTEC Sport and the new Creative and Media Diploma with a Performing Arts focus if they wish to study a mix of music, drama and dance. If students wish to continue their studies into Key Stage five there are a range of courses offered, including A-Level Dance, Music and Drama as well as BTEC Sport and Performing Arts.
For all subjects offered within this faculty in all key stages, departments will be organising trips and visits from outside speakers to enable students to consolidate and apply their learning.
Within the extra curricular programme students can choose to participate in the following activities: drama, dance, choir, keyboard club, windband, trampolining, netball, football, tennis, rounders, athletics, cheerleading, fitness, swimming, cricket, badminton and running.
Students choosing to study subjects and/or attend clubs offered within this faculty will also have the opportunity to represent the academy in sports matches, tournaments and competitions or perform in shows and concerts throughout the academic year.
